Our Mission
MISO is meant to bring together Korean and American communities in support of North Korean refugees. Throughout the year, we will be hosting fundraisers, filming a documentary, and posting on this website to raise public awareness for both North Korean defectors and Korean unification. If you are unable to support our efforts in person, please consider using our virtual fundraiser button and checking out the rest of our website!
About Us
안녕하세요! We are Yasmine (미나 MI-na) and Jessica (소현 SO-hyun), and together, we are MISO (미소). We are two Korean-American high school students working to raise money and awareness for North Korean defectors trying to assimilate into South Korean life.
Why?
As Korean-Americans, we feel that there any many misconceptions directed towards North Korean. It is important to us that the narrative of North Koreans and North Korean defectors are heard, and by doing this, we hope to raise awareness and aid for defectors seeking a better life.
How?
To achieve our goals in this mission, MISO will be holding a number of fundraisers such as bake sales and drives to help raise awareness for North Korean defectors and to donate to those in need. Please consider supporting us either by coming to these events or directly through our Donate Page.
